North End Road, London SW6
The west end of St John's Church at the Dawes Road (A3219) end of North End Road (B317) evidently undergoing repairs or restoration. It was completed in 1828 with monies from a £1,000,000.00 fund created by Parliament as an act of thanksgiving following the defeat of Napoleon at Waterloo. The edifice covers the spot where the village pond was formerly to be found, an area known as Walham Green. The original architect was George Ledwell Taylor with alterations by E P Warren in 1893. This is a Grade II-listed building described as being of Early English Gothic style.
