Chestnut Lodge, Streatham Hill
On 48 Palace Road.
Grade II listed house, later used as a youth club and latterly for storage, by the nearby school, Streatham Wells Primary School.

Palace Road Gardens Nature Reserve
This used to be the grounds of a large house which was demolished in the early 1980s. The grounds were fenced off and landscaped, and a small pond and circular walk were created. Many trees and shrubs present in the grounds of the original house were retained. This is within one of the areas of woodland scrub.

The pond in Palace Road Gardens Nature Reserve
This used to be the grounds of a large house which was demolished in the early 1980s. The grounds were fenced off and landscaped, and a small pond and circular walk were created. Many trees and shrubs present in the grounds of the original house were retained. This view is of the fenced-off pond. The original pond became choked over time and was eventually restored.

Chestnut Lodge, 48 Palace Road
Built in 1905, Chestnut Lodge is a rare example in this area of a surviving and sizeable Arts and Craft-style house. Note the sweeping roof, gables and roughcast exterior. It is now used as a children's nursery.
