Tate Central Library, Brixton Oval
Another fruit of the munificence of sugar magnate Henry Tate, who lived at Streatham. Built 1893 to the designs of S.R.J. Smith. Grade II listed. The area in front has recently been landscaped.

Tate Central Free Public Library, Brixton
Lambeth benefited from the generosity of Sir Henry Tate, who lived in Streatham. He provided many South London libraries of which the largest was the Tate Central Library in Brixton. It dates from 1893 and is in an important position facing the Town Hall. The bust outside is of Sir Henry Tate and dates from 1899.

Brixton: The Ritzy Cinema
The Ritzy Cinema was opened as the Electric Palace on 11 March 1911, designed by the architects E C Homer and Lucas. Apart from some minor alterations in 1954 the fabric of the building is said to be largely unchanged since 1911. It is a Grade II Listed Building.
