Old Milestone by the A3, Tibbet's Corner, Putney
Carved stone post by the A3, in parish of PUTNEY (WANDSWORTH District), Tibbet's Corner, in small copse North of bus stop, on North side of road. Surrey limestone pillar, erected by the Surrey & Sussex turnpike trust in the 19th century.

Path and bridleway, Tibbett's Corner, near Putney Heath
Tibbett's Corner is a road junction in south west London. The main A3 road passes beneath a roundabout here. A route for pedestrians, cyclists and horse riders is provided, passing beneath the roundabout but above the A3. In this image, the bridleway for horses is to the left of the railing, cyclists and pedestrians share the path to the right.

Coming up to Tibbett's Corner
Approaching this busy intersection from the south.
Allegedly, Tibbett was a highwayman who plied his trade around here, but there is no proof of that, so it seems.

Cyclepath junction at Tibbets Corner
A footpath/cyclepath leads under the roundabout on the A3 at the junction with Wimbledon Parkside and Tibbets Ride (both the A219).
One path leads to straight on to Wandsworth. Another path leads left towards Putney and Roehampton, also a path leads right to Southfields and Wimbledon Common
