This block path is used by horses (and riders) leading from Wimbledon High Street towards Wimbledon Common. Slightly unusual to see 6 horses heading through a high street !

The Rose and Crown, Wimbledon
These two plaques are attached to the outside wall of this Wimbledon Village pub. Winning the Evening Standard's pub of the year contest was no doubt a creditable achievement at the time - but it was almost 50 years ago. The other tells us that the Rose and Crown dates from the early 17th century and was once the starting point for stage coaches to London.
