Ram Brewery beam engine
The Ram Brewery, now closed, was home to a pair of magnificent Wentworth Woolf compound beam engines dating from 1835 and 1867. This is the older engine. Although they had not been used commercially for some years they were maintained in operable condition and I saw them run several times. They are listed and retained but I do not know whether they are accessible.

River Wandle in Wandsworth
This is the lower River Wandle, just after it emerges from under the former Arndale Centre. It is seen from Wandsworth High Street. On the right is part of the former Young's Brewery site which has been redeveloped as the Ram Quarter. There is still a micro-brewery on the site.

Young's Brewery at Wandsworth in December 2006
This picture was taken around the time of the last malting. The brewery site is currently semi-derelict and is awaiting re-development. The stainless steel silos on the left of the picture were removed when the brewery closed down.
