Bridges across the Wandle
The bridge in the background carries the SWR lines from Waterloo to Windsor and Reading via Richmond. The other bridge seems to carry utilities. Taken from The Causeway bridge.
The floating vegetation is water (or floating) pennywort (Hydrocotyle ranunculoides), an aquatic plant native to the Americas. Due to its popularity as a pond plant, and subsequent escape into rivers, it has established as an invasive alien species in parts of Europe, Australia, Africa and Japan. It was one of five aquatic plants which were banned from sale in the UK from April 2014, having first been identified here in 1990. Thanks to Mick Crawley for this information.
