Apart from the cars, the sign and the alarms, this scene could be straight from a Victorian film set. The arch belongs to the District line between Putney Bridge and East Putney stations. The front rooms of these houses must receive very little light.

Death of a corner shop
Florian street and Putney Bridge Road.
Back in the 1980's this was a thriving corner shop run by an Indian family.
The new brick work is now the only reminder of that there once was a shop.
