A basement extension gone badly wrong
It made the national news in November 2015 when this house at Barnes collapsed while a basement was being constructed underneath it. It is located at The Terrace, Barnes and is seen here from the Thames Path. See also http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-34935821

Looking west towards White Hart Lane. Little terraced cottages - but with an enormous number of chimney pots. A local resident told me the street dates from 1886.
