Railway bridge, Balham
A railway bridge over Bedford Hill at Balham. The bridge carries warning markings as it is too low for large vehicles to pass underneath.
The bridge carries the main railway line from London Victoria to East Croydon and the south coast.

View from the end of the platform at Balham station
Balham station opened in 1856 but has been rebuilt many times. This view from the end of the platform looks away from London. The train in the distance is veering right to cross Tooting Bec Common along the route followed by coastal trains and the Gatwick Express while the line straight ahead continues to Streatham Hill.
