SR Bulleid Pacific 'Clan Line' on Up Special at Clapham Junction
View SW, away from London: ex-LSW Waterloo to the West main line. SR rebuilt Bulleid 'Merchant Navy' Pacific No. 35028 'Clan Line' in its last full year brings an Up Special (? empty stock') through Clapham Junction. It was built 12/48, rebuilt 10/59 and withdrawn 7/67, but preserved and remains in active operation by the Merchant Navy Locomotive Preservation Society, based at Stewarts Lane Depot.

Ex-LSW 4-6-2T at Clapham Junction
View northward from London end of main-line platforms across to Windsor line platforms: ex-LSW and LB&SC major junction. In between are the 49 sidings of the Carriage Depot. Ex-LSW Urie H16 class 4-6-2T No. 30520 (built 2/22, withdrawn 11/62) is on empty stock duty.

Seen through the glass of one of the new flights of stairs down from the overbridge (recently renovated with the addition of lifts for those with mobility problems, replacing the old staircases). In the distance, the Shard (under construction) and one of the chimneys of Battersea Power Station, next to the gasometer.
