Battersea encroaches quite a long way south between Wandsworth and Clapham, and includes the station Clapham Junction as the rail company thought it sounded better.

Battersea Rise (A3)
Looking E towards Clapham Common. This photo was taken near St John's Road. This is the A3, a major route out of London towards Surrey and Hampshire, but the A3 does not become dual carriageway until it gets past Wandsworth, and that's not for another 2 miles West of here. The usual traffic jam is in evidence!
