Cast iron post by the B5051, in parish of STOKE ON TRENT (STOKE ON TRENT District), between Norton Green and Norton-in-the-Moors, West of Endon village, by the road, on South side of road. Cochrane iron casting, erected by the County Council in the 20th century. Grazing by the Caldon Canal, Staffordshire
The view from Engine Lock is towards the housing in between Norton Green and Norton-in-the-Moors. There are two very beautiful Himalayan Birch (Betula utiis v. 'Jacquemontii') trees by the lock.

Norton Green Lift Bridge, Caldon Canal
Rather quaintly described on Ordnance Survey maps as a drawbridge, this bridge is operated by boaters using a standard windlass (or lock key). The cat had waited patiently for a boat to pass through and the bridge to be lowered before nonchalantly strolling across - clearly well used to the procedure.
