Old Milepost by the A5035, Hem Heath, Stoke on Trent
Cast iron post by the A5035, in parish of STOKE ON TRENT (STOKE ON TRENT District), Hem Heath, in grass between road and path, on South side of road. Lathe iron casting, erected by the County Council in the 19th/20th century. Inscription reads:- : TRENTHAM 1½ / STONE 6½ / STAFFORD 13½ : : TRENTHAM : : LONGTON 2¼ : Maker:- : Chas. Lathe, Tipton. : Milestone Society National ID: ST_LTTR02.

The A Frame
The A Frame was the headgear for Hem Heath Colliery No.2 shaft. The frame was demolished and the shaft filled and capped in 1999.The design of the headgear was unique in the UK but of a design much used in Germany.
