Minton Cottages, Hartshill
263 Hartshill Road. One of a complex of model cottages built in 1857 by Herbert Minton to house workers from his pottery factory. The cottages have a bit of a Gilbert Scott gothic influence. They were built around the time Minton employed the great architect to build nearby Holy Trinity church, and include decorative brickwork patterns, complex roof and chimney shapes and plaques with allegorical motifs over the doors. The cottage really does lean - it's not entirely due to the camera lens!
