Blue moon over Penkridge
The night of 30th August 2023 brought a rare 'super blue moon'. A blue moon is a second full moon occuring in a single month and a supermoon occurs when a full moon is at its closest to the earth - and therefore at its brightest. A combination of the two is a notable astronomical event.

The Staffordshire and Worcestershire Canal was opened throughout by 1772 at a cost of a little over £100,000. It stretches for 46 miles from Great Haywood to the River Severn at Stourport.
