Sir Martin Noel's Almshouses
The Almshouses and their central chapel were built in 1660. They were restored and extended relatively recently and are still occupied.

Noel's Almshouses, Stafford
Built in around 1660, originally 12 dwellings, extended in 1960 to contain 23 dwellings. The building in the middle of the main range to the left is a chapel http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/5507335 .Listed Grade II*. Sir Martin Noel was MP for Stafford 1656-59, also a London Alderman.

Church Lane Evangelical Church
At the junction of Church Lane and Mill Street (running across the picture). The view is from the north end of Water Street where neat and sympathetic remodelling of the floorscape is marred by a dense visual clutter of signs, street furniture and oddly placed floral displays. Count the signs! 25?
