Derelict land at Shelton, Stoke-on-Trent
This industrial land by the Caldon canal was cleared some years ago, but regeneration building has been slow, no doubt due to the turbulent financial climate since 2008. A local observer in Norfolk Street (behind the derelict buildings) said they should have been demolished ten years ago.

Derelict factory frontages in Shelton, Stoke-on-Trent
The area behind these buildings in Norfolk Street, by the Caldon canal, was demolished several years ago. http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/2467883
A lot of regeneration is under way in many parts of Stoke-on-Trent, so it is not surprising that, in the recession dominated financial climate since 2008, some sites have been experiencing lengthy delays.
Any information about this building will be appreciated.

Terraced housing in Shelton, Stoke-on-Trent
Norfolk Street.
The Victorian housing in this area seems to be solid and well maintained, so is not being demolished with the old factories and other industrial premises nearby.

This is the scene looking east-north-east from Planet Lock. The new building off to the left is the Shelton Primary Trust medical centre.
Beyond its car park, the former industrial land by the Caldon Canal was cleared some years ago, but regeneration building has been slow, no doubt due to the turbulent financial climate since 2008. A local observer in Norfolk Street (to the left of the derelict buildings) said they should have been demolished ten years ago.

Planet Lock east of Etruria, Stoke-on-Trent
Lock No 3 on the Caldon Canal. It is not a deep lock, allowing a rise of just 3ft 10in (almost 1·2 metres). This lock is not from the 1770s, but was added to the canal in order to counteract the problem of subsidence nearby in the Etruria area. Can anyone provide a date for this work?
On the left is the recently built medical centre.
