Caldon Canal at Ivy House

The building to the centre right was Britains Paper Mill. The demolition area on the right was J & G Meakin's Eagle pottery works, now a housing estate.

The old factories of the 18th and 19th centuries are being demolished all around, and these units are unlikely to last much longer.

Old factory buildings near Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent
Extensive regeneration is ongoing on former industrial sites all along the Caldon canal in Stoke-on-Trent. New apartments can be seen in the distance. The old buildings in this image are unlikely to survive, as the canalside landscape is changing rapidly.
Spot the difference between this image and my earlier one from 2007.

The towpath has been upgraded to a very high standard, complete with high quality mooring rings. Canalwise, for boat crews this is in the middle of nowhere, so I suggest there will be major retail facilities within three years, economic recession permitting.
