Millworkers cottage from c1830; slightly later than those to the left which have weavers' garrets, but with the same distinctive gothic first floor windows. Grade II listed. A mixture of mills and workers houses. The group of terraced cottages on the right display a fine set of attic gallery windows, where outworkers would have carried out specialised tasks for the large manufacturers, generally as piecework. These cottages date from around 1820 and are Grade II listed.

Mill on Shoobridge Street
This small mill with a chimney is seen from the A53 - Haywood Street. I have been unable to find out anything about this other than that it may now be occupied by a removals firm. It was almost certainly a small textile mill (probably silk related) as built.
