Stallington Road, Blythe Bridge
The grass verge and bollards appear to be intended to prevent parking near the primary school outside whose entrance the photographer is standing. The level crossing to which the sign refers is hidden from view by the blind corner.

20 is plenty in Blythe Bridge
The sign tells motorists that they are entering a 'school safety zone' and that '20 is plenty'. The school in question is the William Amory Primary School (just out of shot to the right). The speed limit, although no doubt highly advisable when children are entering or leaving the school, is not legally enforceable on the basis of this sign.

BMF & Crossways Garage, Blythe Bridge
This garage on Stallington Road offers MOTs, servicing and general repairs but was unexpectedly closed in this Thursday morning view. Closer inspection revealed a note taped to the door stating that it was closed for celebration of the festival of Eid.

Tesco Express, Blythe Bridge
Unmistakably a former pub, this modern convenience store stands on the corner of Uttoxeter Road and Cheadle Road. It was the Duke of Wellington until 2013 when the conversion took place despite some local opposition. Note the squirrel crest which identifies the building as an Ansells House. A more modern feature is the banner imploring people to keep a safe distance as a response to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The William Amory Primary School, Blythe Bridge
The William Amory Primary School was opened in 2006 as an amalgamation of The Marsh Primary School and Draycott Manor Primary School. The Marsh name referred to the old hamlet of Blythe Marsh, now subsumed into Blythe Bridge, and was pretty much the last official recognition of its existence although it does still appear on maps. However, the new name was well chosen because it commemorates William Amory, a man from a prominent local family who founded a free school in the village in 1728. The William Amory Nursery was formed in 2017. See https://www.williamamory.co.uk/our-school for a more detailed history of the school.
