Maintenance gang walking the line
North of Froghall & Kingsley on the Churnet Valley Railway. The points allow engines to change end for the return journey to Cheddleton.

Railway line at Froghall, Staffordshire
Looking towards Cheddleton.
Currently owned and operated by the Churnet Valley Railway Company, the line is open at present as far as Leekbrook Junction. Some trains also run as far as Ipstones on the Cauldon Lowe branch. In the not too far distant future, with co-operation and partnership with the Moorland and City Railways Company, trains may go as far as Leek, or even Stoke (via Endon).

Railway signal near Froghall, Staffordshire
The Churnet Valley operates steam and vintage diesel hauled trains along a very scenic route between Kingsley and Froghall and Ipstones. This is on the approach to Kingsley and Froghall Station.

Churnet Valley Railway at Froghall, Staffordshire
Looking towards Consall and Cheddleton from the bridge by Kingsley and Froghall Station.
The hundred metre tall chimney (now to be preserved) is all that remains on that site of the former Thomas Bolton copperworks.

Steam locomotive at Froghall in Staffordshire
Locomotive 80098 is a standard Class 4, 2-6-4 tank engine and was in service between Cheddleton and Kingsley and Froghall on the Churnet Valley Railway. In this image it has been decoupled from the front of the train, reversed back round it, and is now returning to haul the next service to Cheddleton. The view is through the arch of the A52 road bridge.

Kingsley & Froghall Station
The award winning reconstructed station on the Churnet Valley Railway (CVR). Pretty well all that remained here after Beeching's Axe had wreaked havock was one track and the bridge. The platforms and station building have all been rebuild by the CVR http://www.churnet-valley-railway.co.uk/ to create this period view.
