Hockley Parish Hall: The Old Fire Station
This funky old fire station can be located on Southend Road, opposite the library. I spotted it whilst coming from the car park opposite.

Former pump room, Hockley Spa
In 1838 a supposedly medicinal spring was discovered at Hockley and in 1842 a pump room designed by James Lockyer was built. In his architectural guide to Essex, Pevsner describes this building as "typical 1840s, in a chaste yet formal mood".

Hockley Spa
A short-lived Victorian attempt to elevate Hockley to the fashionable heights of Bath or Royal Tunbridge Wells. Despite the elegant pump room it never caught on.
