Southend-Rochford boundary
Taken from just within Southend in Cherry Orchard Way. This part of the gridsquare, until fairly recently the bleak remains of a former brickfield, now houses the Toomey Automotive Park some of which can be seen just to the left of the roundabout.

Take Off again
This was the second photo I was able to take when I was Co Pilot on a flight to Lydd.
The building with the fir trees and a marquee is the Essex County Hotel.

The open area of land in the centre of the photo is in Cherry Orchard Way.
I believe industrial units are going to be built there.

Former Brickfields, waiting for a new use.
The former Brickfields, behind Comet Way, has been covered in tarmac and is now awaiting for a new use, probably Car Showrooms!

Skylark Hotel, Aviation Way, Rochford
The Skylark has not been geographed since 2007 Image It still retains its exotic Mediterranean appearance and the seemingly unused space at the front. The 'Zero6' sign refers to the eponymous nightclub that has been attached to the hotel for some time.

Essex County Hotel
Formerly this was the airport hotel for Southend Airport, it has now been redeveloped in an unusual Mediterranean 'hacienda' style. Its speciality is in the Essex wedding market. It offers a 'grand marquee' and has for hire a black stretch limousine.
