Thorpe Bay station, down side
These buildings stand on the Shoeburyness platform. There used to be a ticket office here but it closed many years ago. Very occasionally the gate beside the ticket machine is locked and passengers have to make their way through ticket gates sited inside the building and manned by revenue protection staff.

Thorpe Bay Station
Thorpe Bay station serves the suburban and seaside settlement of Thorpe Bay, part of the City of Southend-on-Sea. It is the penultimate stop on the line to Shoeburyness from London Fenchurch Street and was originally opened in 1910, somewhat before the area's main development period which followed the First World War.
