National Cycle Network route 1 near Haverley House
National Cycle Network http://www.sustrans.org.uk/default.asp?sID=1089735289781 route 1 is the principal long-distance cycle route up the east side of Britain. Here (between Ryhope and South Hetton) it follows a long length of the disused railway.

Coal from Murton at Seaton Bank Top
This is now a cycleway. Here is a view of coal from the Murton stockpile approaching the bank at Seaton bank top towards Ryhope Grange.There was quite a climb in the opposite direction and locos worked hard to clear Seaton bank top.
It was more down hill in this direction but this loco was struggling with its heavy load .

Seaton Pond
The pond is located in the fields SE of the village and is rather difficult to spot as it's surrounded by trees. A good place for wildlife.
