Easter cross on Tunstall Hills, Sunderland
Since 1966, a cross has been raised on Tunstall Hills every year on Good Friday. It is taken down again by Easter Monday.
The site of the cross has good views over Sunderland, which also means that the cross is prominent on the skyline.
In this image, two of Sunderland's recent landmarks are visible. Just to the right of the cross is the Northern Spire, a bridge which opened in 2018, while further to the right is the Stadium of Light, home to Sunderland's football team,
