Museum and Winter Gardens - Mowbray Gardens
Apparently the original Winter Gardens were badly damaged by a parachute bomb in 1941 - a major achievement for the Luftwaffe!

The Winter Gardens, Mowbray Park
The original Winter Gardens building, constructed in 1879, was badly damaged by a parachute bomb in 1941 and had to be demolished in 1942. The building was recreated during the 1990s when the park was restored using Heritage Lottery funding.
