Shipton Bellinger - Old Pop Factory
In 1900 the firm of Allan and Lloyd from Aldershot moved to Shipton Bellinger and built a small corrugated iron shed which still stands today and started to produce mineral waters, such was the success that in 1912 a larger factory was built in 1912 and is still in use as an auction house.
The firm of Hooper-Struve took over the factory in 1953 and it's claim to fame that was this was the first place to make 7-UP in England and supplied depots at Exeter, Southampton, Swindon and Aldershot.
Canada Dry took over the factory in 1965 and closed down the production side in 1966 using it only as a supply depot and closed it down completely a few years later, so ending this part of its life .
