Shaftesbury: Rolt Millennium Green
A public open space off St. James's Street, opened as its name suggests to mark the year 2000. Its website http://www.roltmillenniumgreen.org.uk/ unfortunately fails to explain the meaning of the word Rolt in the name.

Shaftesbury: St. James finger-post
I would have expected the original fingers to have had rounded ends with modern replacements pointed. However, while the right-hand finger has newish-looking lettering, the 'Shaftesbury' on the left does not look all that recent.
Anyway, the interesting feature is the original finial, giving location and six-digit grid reference.
