Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis), Sixpenny Handley
Rosemary is good for low-growing hedges or it can be planted near a path so every time someone brushes against it the highly aromatic scent is released. It is an evergreen, with spiky leaves and misty blue flowers in spring. Here it is planted beside the path to the church.

Sixpenny Handley, war memorial
Near the top of High Street on a triangular patch of open space with a bench, at the entrance to St. Mary's; recording the names of twenty-three fallen in WW1. Wild thyme is in bloom on the mound at the moment.
