Borbach Chantry - West Dean
Tucked away down a country lane in West Dean is the C14 Borbach Chantry founded by Robert de Borbach in 1333. It once formed the south aisle of the old parish church of St Mary that was demolished in 1868. It was subsequently retained as a mortuary chapel incorporating many of the architectural features from the old church, including a substantial collection of memorials to the Evelyn family. The building is Grade I Listed.
