Woodpigeon (Columba palumbus)
Found almost throughout Britain and Ireland in woods, parks and farmland with trees, the Woodpigeon eats mainly berries, leaves, seeds, buds, flowers and root crops, and some worms and slugs. Food is mainly taken off the ground by walking and pecking, but also in trees where, unlike other pigeons, it is very agile and is able to climb over small branches to reach food.
