St Francis's, Salisbury
The church was founded in 1930 when the surrounding residential area grew. The original building was a temporary wooden one on Stratford Road. This new building was started in 1938 and consecrated on 1940. It contains the bells from the church in the deserted village of Imber.

St Francis, Salisbury - interior
This view shows the unusual form of the ceiling and apsidal east end with gallery in art-deco style. I have avoided showing the ground floor as there was a large event on progress.

St Francis Church, Castle Road
Building work began in 1938, the foundation stone was laid in January 1939 and the church was consecrated in 1940.
In front of the church beside the A345 is a limestone milestone dated 1748 with a bench mark on the west side.
