Non dwelling burglaries

Response (26 Apr 2024)

Whilst we have seen a significant reduction in non
dwelling burglaries over the last couple of months in the
Broadchalke and Dinton areas, we are aware that there has been a few reports in Redlynch, Landford and
Downton.

These have predominately involved business premises and outbuildings.

High visibility targeted patrols are being carried out in these areas.

Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB)

ASB continues to be a priority in the Alderbury and
Longhedge area.

High Visibility patrols are being conducted at certain times to deal with any incidents and provide reassurance to the community.

The police are working very closely with partner agencies including the Parish Councils, and local community groups to address some of the issues and concerns raised.

Vulnerable Checks

Officers conduct regular visits to our identified vulnerable people to both reassure them following reported concerns and to deter visits by criminals who wish to exploit them. We have been working closely with Wiltshire Council Housing on evidence to support several injunctions which we have now got in place. These premises are visited regularly by the teams to provide support to those who are most vulnerable.

Rural crime continues to be a focus for the team especially now we are in the poaching / hare coursing season.We are continuing to conduct proactive operations with our neighbouring forces and our Rural Crime Team in tackling rural crime.

We have received some reports of non-dwelling burglaries and theft from motor vehicles in Redlynch, Downton and Wilton. These relate to business premises as well as shed breaks. High visibility targeted patrols are being carried out in these areas.
