South Wilts Grammar School for Girls, Salisbury
Viewed from Stratford Road. The school opened in September 1927 with 207 girls and 13 teachers, most of whom had transferred from the Bishop Wordsworth's School. In September 2003 the school became a Maths and Computing Specialist School. The school's website states that today (2013) South Wilts is a blend of the traditional and the modern. It is proud of its unbroken record as a Grammar School preserving high academic standards and lasting values of hard work and perseverance.

Salisbury, statue
In Victoria Park. On the base of the statue is the name Sidney Herbert, with no biographical detail; a search reveals that this was Baron Herbert of Lea, 1810-61, local MP and dignitary.
