Frowd's almshouses

The liberality of Mr Frowd
Edward Frowd was a wealthy merchant of Salisbury and pledged a sum of money to establish almshouses here. His bequest of 1719 totalled some £4,000 but the houses were not opened until 1750. They were initially for six unmarried men and six spinsters. See Image] for a wider view.
