Roman Road ahead
Shading itself in the trees ahead is the junction with the Roman Road which joins Mildenhall to Andover.

Is this the footpath?
The map suggests, yes, it goes along the north side of the wooded boundary from the Roman road. But the sign on the ground suggests a route to the south along a clearer track than this one.

Boundary track
This track runs to the south of the field woodland to the right. The map shows the footpath running to the north, but this is by far the more obvious route and the signs at the far end seem to indicate this is now the official route too.
