Thatcher at work (1), Vernham Dean
This is one of two thatchers working on the roof of a substantial property nearly opposite the public house. The thatch is being pinned into place by the use of large pegs, although that probably isn't the correct technical term. A wider look at the site is here http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/982611

Thatching operations, Vernham Dean
The thatchers are working steadily at replacing the roof of the cottage which is nearly opposite the village pub. Thatching is a traditional craft much in demand given the large number of thatched properties that exist and that are still being built http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/610747
