Former council houses, Vernham Dean
Every village has their rather obvious 1950s or 1960s council housing. Most are now in private ownership and the owners of these have done their best to make them look attractive by taking a pride in the gardens.
The nearer ones both seem to be a window short upstairs.

Donkey weather vane, Vernham Dean
For centuries weathervanes have kept people in touch with the elements, signalling those shifts in the wind, which bring changes in the weather. This simple device has grown into a charming English tradition which can say something about their owners, adding interest to the landscape.
