Hurstbourne Hill Mobile Phone Mast
This small mobile phone tower stands next to the A343 Andover / Newbury road at the junction with the road to Pill Heath at the top of Hurstbourne Hill. The tower belongs to National Grid Wireless but use to be a 1-2-1 and T-Mobile operator site before there network was acquired by NGW.

Polypore fungus, Doles Wood, Hants (1)
This was growing on a fallen silver birch. This is the topside of the growth. It has been identified as 'Piptoporus betulinus'. More here http://www.mushroomexpert.com/piptoporus_betulinus.html As with any wild fungus DO NOT EAT unless you know it is safe to do so.

Polypore fungus, Doles Wood, Hants (2)
This is the underside of the growth. It is about 150 mm wide and 100 mm high. It is also much harder than, say, a mushroom. It has been identified as 'Piptoporus betulinus'. Old Milestone by the A343, Hurstbourne Hill, Hurstbourne Tarrant
Carved stone post by the A343, in parish of Hurstbourne Tarrant (Test Valley District), Hurstbourne Hill, by the road, on Northwest side of road. Newbury waist, erected by the Andover & Chilton Pond turnpike trust in the 19th century.
