River Swift, Ibthorpe
A wet winter has reawakened the river which is now living up to its name with a fast flow of crystal clear water. It's a winterbourne, though recent dry winters had led to a lack of water. Beyond Hurstbourne Tarrant it becomes the Bourne Rivulet and it flows into the River Test just beyond Hurstbourne Priors. Due to high groundwater levels Southern Water are currently having to pump filtered sewage into the river at St Mary Bourne.
