Sir Donald Wolfit blue plaque
This plaque is on the wall of the George and Dragon public house Image] in the centre of the village. He was knighted in 1957 for services to English theatre, as an actor and as a manager. He was born in Nottinghamshire but later lived in Ibthorpe near Hurstbourne Tarrant where he died. The plaque was unveiled in 2002, on the 100th anniversary of his birth.

Road junction, Hurstbourne Tarrant
Hurstbourne Tarrant was a Saxon settlement (Hissaburnham), part of the extensive King's Forest. Writer William Cobbett stayed with his friend Joseph Blount at Rookery Farm where he wrote much of his 'Rural Rides'.
