Micheldever Road

Andover - Winton School
This part of Winton School was the former Andover Girls' School and it used to have a twin boys school on the opposite side of the road, the school became mixed and a footbridge was built to enable the pupils to cross the road safely. The "boys' school" was destroyed in an arson attack and the site was later redeveloped for housing and became Winton Chase.

Cast Iron Footbridge over Micheldever Road, Andover.
Bridge was built by local firm, Tasker and Fowle, in 1851 to carry Ladies Walk footpath over Micheldever Road.

Andover - Iron Bridge
The road that runs under this bridge used to be the main road from London to the West country until the A303 was built. During the summer Andover was a bottleneck and huge traffic jams would build up especially when the level crossing in the centre of the town was in operation.
