Pilley: the post office
Pilley can count itself relatively lucky in 2012 to still have a village store and post office. There is a red telephone box behind the postbox at the far end of the building (see Image).

Pilley: postbox № SO41 102
This George VI-reign postbox stands outside Image and has a traditional red telephone box for company. The phone box has a sticker on the door saying SAVE ME, and refers to the 'redphoneboxesinnewforest' website - www.redphoneboxesinnewforest.co.uk

Pilley General Stores and Post Office
Unusually for a small village, the post office is still in operation. As can be seen, as well as the post box, there is a traditional phone box. However, the latter is now empty of any telephonic equipment.

Lucky Lane, Pilley
This lane has a number of houses along its short length. It is a cul-de-sac, but continues as a footpath.

Three-way Divide at Pilley
The road ahead is Pilley Street, whilst to the left is May Lane, and to the right is Lucky Lane. Both the latter are cul-de-sacs.

Pilley Street, Pilley, New Forest
The road in the foreground and the fork to the left is Pilley Street, the bend to the right is Pilley Bailey. The village is part of the open Forest and commoners stock (such as the white pony) are often seen grazing the verges. There is a large pond in the V of the road fork.
