Church House
Number 9, a 17th century, three storey, three-gabled stone building. With 8 light mullioned and transomed windows in each gable. The gothic porch was added circa 1840. Cloister Garth, Winchester Cathedral.

Winchester Cathedral: The Christmas Market
Winchester Cathedral's Christmas Market is inspired by traditional German Christmas markets and features festive gifts, arts and crafts, decorations and food. It attracts more than 350,000 visitors each year, having been first held in 2006. The wooden chalets are situated in the Cathedral’s historic Close surrounding an open-air real ice rink. (It is however possibly a sad indictment of our times that typing Winchester into Google places the christmas market above the cathedral as a more popular search term...)

10 The Close, Winchester
The unusual facade employs recycled stone. Its roughness contrasts with the Georgian proportions - it was rebuilt in 1804-05. Complicated behind, however, including C13th features. Grade I listed.
