This close was built in place of the large vicarage which also had a large garden; the vicarage is now where the REME hut local library used to be.

This was after an afternoon's snow, more followed overnight and the next day and it was a very white Millbrook. Nobody seemed to use cars and everyone walked to Mansel Park towing their children on sledges.
