Monument to Sarah Sloane - St Mary's church, South Stoneham
Sarah Sloane who died in 1783 is commemorated on this large tablet in the nave. She was the daughter of Stephen Fuller Esq of Brightling in Sussex, and the wife of Hans Sloane Esq of South Stoneham House, MP for Southampton (a great-nephew of Sir Hans Sloane, the famous physician and antiquary upon whose collections was founded the British Museum). The short lives of several of their children are also recorded in the inscription.
