A Large wooden sign at the entrance to Portswood Recreation Ground
Southampton City Council seem to have put up a lot of these large wooden carved signs in their parks and open spaces across the city; this one shows the cutway off Kitchener Road to this Fields in Trust site http://www.fieldsintrust.org/Portswood-Recreation-Ground with its own separate dog-walking area.

Securely fenced dog park in Portswood Rec
This is a securely fenced dog park and walking area in Portswood Recreation ground. A place to safely train dogs off leash when you are walking on their recall. It is managed by Southampton City Council 02380833008 and is free to use. There is a consultation about whether to have an area like this in Central parks. Please phone the council on 02380833008 if you want to give your views on this idea.
