Road to nowhere
This short leafy lane was once the road towards Southampton but the M27 motorway now cuts across the route in a substantial cutting and there is no crossing here.

Eastbound slip road for Rownhams service area
The bridge carries a road that runs north from Rownhams itself. It replaced an earlier road which has been shut off on each side of the M27

M27 motorway at Rownhams
Seen from the bridge carrying Rownhams Lane over the motorway. The green screening is in some way connected with road works here to add an additional lane to each carriageway. At left below the green line is the slip road enabling traffic to rejoin the motorway from the southern side of Rownhams services. The northbound traffic was nearly static at 18:30 on a Sunday evening.
